Lost by 7 wickets.
Maesteg batted first and scored 90 for 6 off their allocated 20 overs. Good contributions were made by Rhodri Morgan (29no) which included one massive 6, Ashley Colston (15) and captain Sam Price who scored 12.
The bowling was also impressive with every bowler excelling.
Rhodri Morgan and Thomas Thornton kept the score under wrap's, first change bowlers Ashley Colston and Steffan Robert's bowled straight and had one wicket a piece and Elliot Colston along with Sam Price finished their spell with good figures. Elliot Colston taking the last wicket to fall. Wicket keeper Tye McGukin made some excellent stop's and also got a not out when he batted.
For Margam their man of the match Shane Hegarty finished on 40 not out and also had bowling figures of 2 for 13.
Christopher Robbins scored 11 and Josh Curtis scored 11.
Maesteg 90 for 6.
Margam 92 for 3.
Good all round performance but a big improvement is needed against Porthcawl next week.

Lost by 89 runs.
A proud Maesteg CC under 16s performance against a very strong Port Talbot CC team.
Captain Chris Morgan won the toss and decided to chase. Port Talbot batted well to score a large match winning total of 161 for 3 with S. Griffiths (54), L. Jones (44) and R. Edwards (52no) all batting exceptionally well - excellent correct batting. There was also some good straight bowling from Callum Walters (2 for 34) and Elliot Colston (1 for 27) with great support bowling from Jack Lewis, Thomas Thornton Steff Roberts and the young talented Nathan Morgan. Thomas Thornton took two outstanding catches at cover point.
Maesteg then batted with a lot of grit and determination and scored a very respectable 72 for 3 wickets after their 20 overs. Captain Chris Morgan lead the way with 32, Thomas Thornton scored 24 and Callum Walters and Daniel Smith both finished not out.
Both Coaches were very proud of their team - continually improving with a great team spirit.

Lost by 5 runs.
Lovely evening at Newbridge field's. Bridgend CC batted first and scored 98 for 7. Sound batting from O. Davies (21), S. Pearce (16), M. Russell (12) and A. Adams (11).
Maesteg worked hard in the field with Steff Roberts (2 for 4) and Ashley Colston (2 for 20) bowling excepionally well. Nice catches were taken by Elliot Colston and second team player Thomas Thornton.
Maesteg batted well and got very close to the Bridgend CC score but fell 5 short.
Callum Walters batted well to score his 25 and the only other players to get into double figures were Steff Roberts (17 not out) and Captain Chris Morgan on 10.
For Bridgend CC Amy Roberts Wales under 16's ladies star received bowling figures of 2 for 16 and J. Kalinka had figures of 2 for 10.
In the end though a very disapointing result for Maesteg under 16s.

15th June 2010 vs. BSC Port Talbot - Home.
Lost by 34 runs.
BSC Port Talbot CC batted first and scored 149 without losing a wicket. For BSC - C. Bamford (87 not out) and J. Jones (36 not out) were outstanding. Maesteg bowled well considering how the two batters were playing. The most econmical bowler's were Steffan Roberts, Sam Lewis, Callum Walters, Rhodri Morgan and Jack Lewis. New player Patrick Morgan also bowled and fielded well with young Nathan Morgan also outstanding in the field.
When Maesteg batted they but up an stirling performance with the bat with captain Chris Morgan leading the way with 50 not out. Chris played some nice shots and was well supported by Sam Price (21), Callum Walters (18) and Rhodri Morgan (11).
Morgan Jones bowled well for BSC taking 2 for 9.
This was a far better performance against a strong side.

Lost by 76 runs.
Maesteg Celtic CC batted first and scored 143 forn 2.
Alex Griffiths scored 46 and Mathew Davies scored 69 not out. For Maesteg Steffan Roberts had 1 for 32 and Jack Lewis had 1 for 15.
Both bowling well. In reply Maesteg finished on 67 for 6 with only Callum Walters 22 and wicket keeper Dan Smith 10 reaching double figures.

Lost by six wickets.
An amazing game of cricket but a poor result in the end for Maesteg.
Maesteg batted first and scored 168 for 3. Outstanding contributions were made by captain Chris Morgan (78 not out) and Ashley Colston (52 not out).
When Margam batted at one stage they were struggling against the bowling of Ashley Colston and Thomas Thornton but D. James (49) and J. Curtis (53) with some big hitting pulled the game back to within reach for R. Mann to hit a 4 and a 6 off the two balls he faced to win this exillerating game.
Well done Margam CC.
An excellent game with 337 runs scored and only 7 wickets lost but about 10 match balls also went missing.
This match will be a good experience for the young Maesteg side.

Won by 22 runs.
Coaches Ryan Parry and Leighton O'Connor were very pleased with the under 16's first win of the season.
Maesteg batted first with captain Christopher Morgan leading the way with an outstanding 63. He was assisted by Callum Walters (37) and Thomas Thornton (17). For Porthcawl J. Tustin had figures of 3 for 28 and J. Tatchell 1 for 17.
Maesteg completed their innings on 128 for 5.
Porthcawl got very close to winning the match with contributions to their 106 for 4 by J. Tachell (39), P. Greenwood (24) and J. Tustin (16).
Maesteg bowlers were all outstanding and the wicket takers were Callum Walters (1 for 20), Thomas Thornton (1 for 15) and Chris Morgan (1 for 15). Dan Smith was again ever improving behind the wickets and took a salute from the crowd when he took a magnificant catch behind the wicket. What a man.
Elliot Colston and young Nathan Morgan also bowled well and their fielding was exceptional.
A good win against a good side.
The coaches have asked both Ashley Colston and Thomas Thornton to vice captain the team in the future and help Captain Chris Morgan as much as they can. This is a development looking at next seasons captain.

Bridgend needed 6 off the last ball.......................they only managed a four. An exciting game played in excellent spirit. Maesteg batted first and made 92 for 7 off 20 overs only Ashley Colston mangaged to get into double figures (33). For Bridgend D. Donnely who's family originated from Maesteg stood out with some excellent accurate bowling.
When Bridgend batted they progressed well to a winning position through good batting from O. Davies (10), T. Hill (25) and Welsh under 12's international S. Pearce (17). Unfortunately R. Knight only smashed a four off the last ball when the maximum 6 was required to win the game. For Maesteg the juggler Rhodri Morgan (1 for 14), Ashley Colston (1 for 9) and Elliot Colston (1 for 11) all excelled but Thomas Thornton was the leading bowler with 3 for 16 off his 4 overs.
An excellent result for Maesteg.

Maesteg got off to a steady start with Stefan Roberts and Ashley Colston putting on an open stand of 35 when some suspect running resulted in A.Colston getting run out for well crafted 20. C. Jones then went cheaply (1) before another 30 run partnership from S. Roberts and Elliot Colston setting up a total of 75.
Steffan Roberts (41) the pick of the batters.
The fielding and bowling was very impressive as all 11 players were superb.

B. F. Steel batted first and scored 69 for 9. Ashley Colston (2 for 6), Jack Lewis (1 for 13), Elliot Colston (1 for 9), Ben Davies (2 for 9) and E. Harrigan (1 for 7) bowled exceptionally well.
Maesteg replied and completed the win with only losing two wickets.
Ashley Colston scored 36 not out and E. Lambert 24.

Game was abandoned because of rain. Maesteg had set the target of 111 to win. Callum Walters scored a magic 53 and Steffan Roberts 31. Neath were on 21 for the loss of no wickets after 5 overs. This would have been an interesting match.

Local derby - Celtic batted first and set a target 57 to win after losing only 5 wickets. The wickets were taken by Ashley Colston (1 for 8), Callum Walters (1 for 2), Elliot Colston (1 for 12), Steffan Roberts (1 for 9) and E. Lambert (1 for 1).
Maesteg then hit the target with the loss of two wickets - Ashley Colston getting 37 and Steffan Roberts 12. Good win.

Port Talbot won by scoring 78 for 8 off 19.4 overs.
J. Darcey scored 37 not out, Sam Tobin had a good alround performance and scored 27 off 37 balls.
Maesteg outstanding bowlers were Callum Walters 2 for 10, Ashley Colston 4 for 13 and Jack Lewis 1 for 13.
